Terms & conditions.

The hirer accepts full responsibility for safe keeping of hired equipment and indemnifies Rattray Motor Spares against any loss or injury caused by use of same equipment.

The hire period will be from date of fitting until date of removal and return of equipment if different from invoice dates.

A confirmed booking is an indication that Terms & conditions have been read and understood.

We are able to allow, if available, the collection of hire equipment between 16.00 hrs on day prior to hire period start and up to 12.00 (noon) on day after hire period, if available, without charge.

Equipment returned after agreed hire period will be subject to minimum hire period charge (4 day hire) being deducted from deposit paid. The hirer must arrange for return of requirement, collection is not possible.

Hirer will be asked to confirm his/her satisfaction with the secure fitting of equipment and will be advised to check all fittings are secure after equipment has been loaded. (i.e. after luggage is loaded onto equipment)

Hirer will be advised that handling of vehicle might be altered due to extra weight being added to vehicle and especially while driving during high wind conditions.

Hirer will be advised to enquire, from vehicle insurance company, if vehicle is still in insurance with hired equipment fitted.

Hirer will be advised to be aware of restricted height access and not to use automatic car wash equipment.

Cancellations

If requested equipment is not available, due to circumstances outwith our control, we will endeavour to substitute alternative equipment, to the same or higher standard at agreed hire cost, or issue a full refund of all payments, with no further compensation being available.

A £25.00 booking fee is required to confirm a hire period. This fee is non refundable if hire is cancelled but will be deducted at end of agreed hire period against total hire cost.

If an equipment hire is cancelled or hire period is reduced, within 14 days prior to hire period start, at our discretion a 25% of hire period cost cancellation fee will be charged. Deposit paid will be refunded in full. All cancellations require to be in writing or via e-mail.

Any alterations to hire must be in writing by post or from previously notified email address.

We do not accept telephone debit/credit payment then later personal collection.

Credit card payment is subject to a 3% handling fee. Debit cards incur no additional fee.

Unused part of hire period cannot be refunded.

Damage to equipment

Damage to equipment, which cannot be repaired economically, will result in full deposit being withheld.

Equipment needs to be returned in clean condition, similar to condition when received.

Excessive road and/or insect debris etc., which require cleaning of equipment, will be charged at £20.00 per hired item.

If a key is lost during a hire period a spare key will be posted at a cost of £10.00, deducted from deposit.

Our commitment

We are committed to customer service and will endeavour to meet all reasonable requests to mitigate penalty charges and resolve of any dispute amicably.

Hire costs will be as advertised on our website and are subject to a VAT charge.
